<p>Organosiloxane compounds with terminal and/or lateral polycarboxylated groups, obtained by addition reaction between organo-hydrogen-polysiloxanes and polyhydroxyalkenyl ethers in presence of platinum or rhodium catalysts, followed by reaction of the hydroxyl groups with carboxylic acid anhydrides, e.g. 1-12C alpha ,omega -alkanedioic acid anhydrides, maleic anhydride or cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid anhydrides. Organosiloxane compounds with terminal and/or lateral polycarboxylated residues containing on average one or more carboxyl groups, obtained by addition reactions between organopolysiloxanes of formula (I) and polyhydroxyalkenyl ethers of formula CH 2=CH(CH 2) cOCH 2R 3>[(CH2O(CR 4>)HCH 2O) eH] d(II) in presence of platinum or rhodium catalysts, followed by reaction with 0.6-1.2 mols (based on OH groups) of acid anhydrides selected from 1-12C alpha ,omega -alkanedioic acid anhydrides, maleic anhydride, cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid anhydride, 3- or 4-methylcyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid anhydride, 2-methyl-cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid anhydride and pyromellitic anhydride. R 1>1-10C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbyl; R 2>R 1>or H, with the proviso that at least one R 2>group is H; a, a1, a2 : 0-500; b : 0-20; R 3>1-20C hydrocarbylene (optionally with ether bridges); R 4>H, 1-3C alkyl or phenyl; c : 0-10; d : 2-10; e : 0-40.
