FIELD: technological processes, woodworking. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is related to installation and method of wood fibre production and processing. Installation for production and processing of wood fibre comprises part for production of fibre with wood chips heater (1) and milling device (2). Wood chips heater is equipped with inlet for wood chips supply in its upper part and outlet for wood chips discharge in its lower part and upper outlet for exhaust of generated smoke gases. Outlet for wood chips is connected to milling device by means of screw conveyor with compression zone, where outlet for smoke gases is installed, being connected to pipeline located between compression zone and upper part of wood chips heater. Method includes supply of wood chips into upper part of wood chips heater (1), discharge of wood chips from lower part of wood chips heater to screw conveyor (12) for compression and transportation into milling device (2), supply of steam into lower part of wood chips heater for washing of supplied wood chips in counterflow direction, removal of smoke gases in the form of released organic waste, steam and air, from upper part of wood chips heater and removal of smoke gases produced in time of compression via outlet (13) arranged in compression zone. Inventions reduce amount of waste that contains volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde in production and from finished produce. ^ EFFECT: lower amount of waste that contains volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde in production and from finished produce. ^ 17 cl, 3 dwg
