Production of concd. aq. emulsions of inorg. or org. water-insol. substances comprises mixing these substances with concd. aq. solns of syn thetic resin pre-condensates at pH 5-7. The precondensates are formed by heating aliphatic or cpds having epoxy groups with polymine selected from cycloaliphatic or heterocyclic polyamines, to form precondensates having a degree of condensation such that opalescent sol. condensation products are formed in water. The resulting emulsions are particularly as finishing agents for textile.
