A method for controlling traffic of video streaming in a wireless communication environment according to the present invention comprises the steps of: temporarily storing traffic of video data in a temporary buffer when the traffic of video data is transmitted by a transmitting side; allowing packets to be stored in a playback buffer only when the number of packets is equal to or smaller than the number of predetermined tokens in a manner in which a single token is consumed for a single packet by applying a token bucket technique to the packets of the video data stored in the temporary buffer; and dynamically controlling playback speed by applying an adaptive media playout (AMP) technique so that an overflow or underflow in the playback buffer is prevented. According to the present invention, the token bucket technique and the AMP technique are combined and applied in order to control traffic of video streaming in a wireless communication environment, thereby providing effects of resolving underflow and overflow problems in a buffer and of improving video streaming performance.
