The present invention relates to a method for arranging a plurality of sensors. The method for arranging a plurality of sensors arranges a plurality of sensors in a specific detection area of a wireless sensor network, and comprises: (i) a step of determining N parent solutions in a one-dimensional array where coordinates of k sensors are sequentially enumerated; (ii) a step of generating N/2 arbitrary solution pairs from the N parent solutions; (iii) a step of applying a crossover operator and a mutation operator to the generated N/2 arbitrary solution pairs to obtain N/2 child solutions; (iv) a step of obtaining coverage approximations for the N parent solutions and coverage approximations for the N/2 child solutions; (v) a step of selecting N solutions among the N parent solutions and the /2 child solutions based on the coverage approximations to construct N next generation solutions; (vi) a step of repeating step (ii) to step (v) using the constructed N next generation solutions as parent solutions until a predefined number of generations is reached to obtain last generation solutions; and (vii) a step of selecting one solution among the last generation solutions based on the coverage approximations.
