<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus which keeps an average sending power of a transmission apparatus at a fixed level, arranges a signal point of a pilot symbol, and improves a characteristics of a receiving sensitivity of a receiving apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The radio communication system to conduct an adaptive modulation keeps the average sending power of the transmission apparatus at the fixed level, and arranges the signal point of the pilot symbol on an in-phase-orthogonal plane (IQ plane) so as to obtain the best receiving sensitivity in the receiving apparatus. In the receiving apparatus when an amplitude of the signal point of the pilot symbol is regarded as r<SB>pilot</SB>and the r<SB>pilot</SB>is increased, a resistance to a noise of the pilot symbol is reinforced, an estimation precision of a phase distortion in the receiving apparatus and the estimation precision of a frequency offset are improved, and the characteristics of the receiving apparatus is improved as a wave-detecting process can be conducted at a high precision. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
