PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared ray detection device capable of expanding a detection object range in an area below the installation position therearound.SOLUTION: The infrared ray detection device is attached to a housing 2 which is installed on an installation plane 41 generally perpendicular to a bottom plane 42 of a space 4 at a predetermined height from the bottom plane 42. The infrared ray detection device includes: an infrared ray sensor 102 in which one or more infrared ray detection elements are arranged in one or more rows; and a scan section that has a scan rotation axis S1 to rotate the infrared ray sensor 102 on a scan rotation axis S1 to allow the infrared ray sensor 102 to scan the space 4. The disposition plane of one or more infrared ray detection elements is disposed to have an inclination with respect to the installation plane 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
