PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thin printing paper causing no trouble of quality and operation due to vessel picking during printing.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a thin printing paper includes applying a coating liquid to a base paper composed of pulp containing at least Hardwood pulp. The coating liquid contains starch oxide and polyacrylamide-based paper strength agent. The method also includes applying a coating liquid whose B-type viscosity is 60-120 mPa s. The coating liquid is preferably applied by gate roll size press.SELECTED DRAWING: None
