Portable lighting device with reconfigurable user interface

A portable lighting device that provides different user interfaces that may be selected by the user. Each user interface may provide one or more operational modes, such as on mode, power save mode, strobe mode or momentary mode. After a user interface is selected, the user may select on of the operational modes. The portable lighting device may be a flashlight.

1. A portable lighting device, comprising:
a power source, a light source and electronics electrically coupled to form a circuit, a power switch that is electrically coupled to the circuit when engaged by a user; and one or more user interfaces that are each associated with a number of blink(s) of the light source; wherein the electronics are configured to acknowledge an opening of the circuit, to acknowledge a user engaging the power switch while the Circuit is closed, to provide power to the light source to emit a number of blink(s) and to acknowledge when the user disengages the power switch after a certain number of blink(s) to select the user interface.
