The receiving device (102) receives (1301) one or more control information messages from at least one transmitting device (101). The one or more messages comprise at least one of: a) information on currently operating radio frequencies, and occupancy of each, b) information on whether network nodes are synchronized or not, c) information on radio frequencies that are utilized for transmission, from a same transmitting node, d) information on whether unlicensed carriers or radio frequencies are being used by an operator for uplink traffic or not, e) information about detected Wi-Fi nodes, and f) information on a number of wireless devices that are served by cell or per network node. The receiving device (102) selects (1305) the channel based on the received one or more control information messages. A method performed by the transmitting device (101) is also described.
