The invention relates to a belt conveying apparatus having a frame having a framework having at least two mutually opposing longitudinal beams or lateral flanges and at least one transverse crossmember which connects the longitudinal beams or lateral flanges with one another in a reinforcing manner. Such belt conveying apparatuses are built up from prefabricated separate components. In this case, as a result of the tolerances occurring, difficulties in adapting the lengths of the transverse crossmembers to be used arise again and again so that the latter cannot be prefabricated. This difficulty is limited according to the invention in that at least one transverse crossmember is adjustable in terms of its length.
