PURPOSE:To obtain a developer composition used in pressure-sensitive copy paper excellent in light fastness by containing a developer based on predetermined nucleus substituted salicylate and a predetermined compound. CONSTITUTION:A developer based on nucleus substituted salicylate represented by formula I and a compound represented by formula II are dissolved in an org. solvent and this solution is emulsified and dispersed in an aqueous medium under heating or non-heating and, subsequently, this dispersion is heated to distill off the org. solvent to obtain a developer composition dispersion. In the formula I, R1, R2, R3 and R4 may be same and different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a 1-15C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group, a nucleus substituted phenyl group, an aralkyl group or a nucleus substituted aralkyl group and two adjacent group among R1, R2, R3 and R4 may be bonded to form a ring, n is an integer and M is a polyvalent metal atom. The compound respresented by the formula II is contained in a coating solution for developing paper in an amount of 0.05-20 pts.wt., pref., about 0.1-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of substituted salicylate represented by the formula I on a dry wt. basis. |
