<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing having improved durability by preventing a main lip from being held in a gap between an insert metal and a piston rod. <P>SOLUTION: The packing comprises the circular insert metal 16, a seal body 13 of U-shaped cross section welded upward to the outer periphery of the insert metal, an outer periphery lip 14 integrally formed on the outer periphery side of the seal body, and the main lip 15A integrally formed on the inner periphery side of the seal body.
