PURPOSE: To provide an optical head which can economically be generated and has low mass and high speed access time by forming the optical head with an integrated waveguide structure. CONSTITUTION: The optical head is formed by the integrated light waveguide structure 20 and a laser beam from LD26 is made incident on the central waveguide 12 of the structure 20 through an optical fiber 28. A I part is made incident on side waveguides 13 and 14 through a photocoupler and an optical disk 40 is irradiated through a lens 50. Reflected light from the disk 40 is made incident on the waveguides 12, 13 and 14 is emitted through the waveguide 20. Then, it is made incident on photodiodes PD1-PD4 through a Y shape branching line. Tracking servo and focusing servo are executed and read data and the like are outputted to a data output circuit 22. Thus, the optical head can economically be generated and high speed access can be executed with low mass by such constitution. |
