PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get a plurality of developing devices to selectively perform development operation without moving relative to a photosensitive drum.

SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with the photosensitive drum 420, an exposure unit 410 for forming electrostatic latent images by scanning the photosensitive drum 420 with light, a number of the developing devices 430 disposed with developing rollers 431 apart by as much as developing gaps from the photosensitive drum 420, and a power supply device 480 for selectively applying the first bias voltage for moving toners to the electrostatic latent image through the developing gaps and the second bias voltage for shutting off the movement of the toners through the developing gaps to the developing rollers 431 of a number of the developing devices 430.
