PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display element capable of improving the reliability and display characteristics of the liquid crystal display element, reducing the power consumption and improving the productivity by reducing the contact defects of a transparent electrode and a patter terminal part and the conducting defects of the transparent electrode. CONSTITUTION: This element is composed of many black matrixes 2 formed on a glass substrate 1 at prescribed intervals, the pattern terminal part 2', first - third color filter layers 3, 4 and 5 respectively separated from each other and successively formed so as to partially overlapping with the black matrixes 2, a protective film 6 formed on the black matrixes 2 and on the entire layers of the color filter layers 3-5 and formed on a part of the pattern terminal part 2' so as to expose a part of the pattern terminal part 2' and the transparent electrode 7 formed on the protective film 6. |
