A burner device reduces primary NOx formation in high temperature furnaces and implies the direct supply of gas into the furnace by means of an injector with a closed design and an opening angle of 19 DEG . The device consists of three elements known per se, i.e. a burner nozzle, an orifice cap (2) and a burner orifice (3). The invention is characterised by the closed enveloping line of the injector formed by said three elements and by their single axis. In order to achieve this characteristic, the device has only cylindrical guides (4) that allow no deviations between the burner elements. In one example, the combined effect of suppression of inleaked air and dampening of initial reaction reduces thermal NO by 50 % in relation to the state-of-the-art.
