PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a work of a wire saw for automatically cutting the work. SOLUTION: After an ingot 32 is mounted at a work feeding table 28 disposed at a predetermined work mounting position, it is set to a predetermined cutting angle by a tilting unit 30 provided at the table 28. A distance M from the ingot 32 to a position (cutting starting position) where the ingot 32 is brought into contact with a wire row 20 is calculated from length (u) and diameter D of the ingot 32 and an inclining angleθof a vertical direction at the time of tilting, and the ingot 32 is fed toward the row 20 by the calculated distance M. After the ingot 32 is fed to the cutting starting position, the ingot 32 is fed according to a previously set cutting program, and cut into wafers. |
