SEALING MATERIAL FOR IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material capable of preventing the surface of base fabric from being exposed to the outside just near a blade, thereby exhibiting a good sealing function.

SOLUTION: The sealing material 21 is stuck to a supporting projection 18 provided on both side parts of a toner recovery path 17 in both side walls of a housing 14 constituting a cleaning part 13 in an image forming apparatus and installed on both side end parts of a blade 16. The sealing material 21 is provided with a ground fabric 26 and a sliding contact layer 24 constituted from velour material formed by a plurality of pile threads 27 napped on the ground fabric 26. The pile threads 27 are inclined beforehand so that the threads are extended in the direction crossing with the direction of the toner leaking. An inner edge part of the surface of the ground fabric 26 is covered by the inclined pile threads 27 so it is not exposed outside and the tips of the threads are brought into contact with a side surface and a front edge surface of a corner part of the blade 16.
