<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently stereo-observe in an effective area without making a display of a close range area where a treatment implement is present disturb a three-dimensional view. <P>SOLUTION: Video of an object to be observed is three-dimensionally observed by a pair of right and left CCD 14R and 14L, and the treatment implement is guided to a top via a treatment implement insertion channel. It is detected by a photo-interrupter 23 that the treatment implement is inserted to the treatment implement insertion channel. When the insertion of the treatment implement is detected, under control of image memories 18R and 18L by a memory control part 19, 2D video is formed in the close range area, and 3D video is formed in the other area. Thus, the treatment implement displayed in the close range area is prevented from disturbing the stereo-observation. Besides, in place of the 2D video, a mask image of a halftone or the like may be also superimposed in the close range area for three-dimensional images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
