WEFT CARRYING GRIPPERS FOR WEAVING LOOMS AND MEANS FOR GUIDING MOVEMENT OF GRIPPERS THROUGH SHED HAVING EFFECTS OF PREVENTING UNDESIRED VERTICAL BENDING OF STRIP/GRIPPER ASSEMBLY DURING ACCELERATION AND REDUCTION OF POLYESTER STRAPS AND ABRASION OF LOWER WARP YARN CAUSED BY CARBON FIBER STRAPS CONTROLLING GRIPPERS

PURPOSE: Weft-carrying grippers for continuous weft-feed type weaving looms and a unit for guiding the movement of grippers through the shed are provided. They prevent an undesired vertical bending of a strip/gripper assembly during acceleration and reduction of polyester straps whereby preventing potential collision between a ceramic layer of tracks and grippers, and abrasion of lower warp yarn caused by carbon fiber straps controlling grippers. CONSTITUTION: The weft-carrying grippers(1) for weaving looms comprise: a metal shoe(3) formed integrally with grippers, protruded from the bottom in the vicinity of a front end portion and extended to the front end portion at the grippers; a large recess to receive a narrow distal end portion of distal ends of driving straps at the metal shoe wherein the narrow distal end is thinner than the large recess. In carrying grippers, the shoe is placed in the vicinity of a front end portion(5) and extended to the front end portion through a short taper area(14). In drawing grippers, the shoe is placed in a gripper body area prior to the front end portion of grippers and extended to the gripper body area through a short taper area.
