PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud water type shield machine equipped with a built-in gravel crusher, capable of being installed almost without any need of remodeling a facility in the case of a general mud water type shield machine, and a mud water shielding method. SOLUTION: A gravel crusher made of a screw conveyor 22 to collect and stack gravel R, as well as a cone crusher 23 to crush the gravel R is detachably mounted at the position of a mud discharge pipe 5. Also, a slide jack 26 is installed for causing the crusher to slide. For excavating the ordinary earth free from the gravel R, the slide jack 26 is contracted and are screw conveyor 22 and the cone crusher 23 are made to retreat. Then, excavated sediment and mud water are forcibly sent to the ground directly via the mud discharge pipe 5 on the operation of a pump. For excavating the earth containing gravel R, the slide jack 26 is expanded and the screw conveyor 22 and the cone crusher 23 are made to advance. Then, the excavated sediment, mud water and gravel type earth are collected and stacked on the screw conveyor 22. Thereafter, the gravel R is crushed with the cone crusher 23, and the excavated sediment, mud water and the crushed gravel type earth (r) are forcibly transferred to the ground via the mud discharge pipe 5 on the operation of the pump. |
