PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp device obtaining the proper excitation coil voltage before and after a start respectively, capable of feeding the proper power to a discharge lamp after the start, simple in structure, excellent in durability, and capable of providing a transmission line of an optional length between a high-frequency power supply and an excitation coil. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp device is provided with an electrodeless discharge lamp 10, an excitation coil 20 driving it, and a high-frequency power supply 30 feeding electric power to the excitation coil 20. An auxiliary circuit 40 for starting the lamp 10, maintaining lighting, and efficiently feeding electric power to the lamp 10 from the high-frequency power supply 30 is provided between the high-frequency power supply 30 and the excitation coil 20. For the structure of the auxiliary circuit 40, a constant capacitor 41 is connected in parallel with the excitation coil 20, then the different first and second capacitors 42, 43 are added to the fixed capacitor 41 at the starting time or the ordinary time, for example. The proper excitation coil voltage is obtained at the starting time or the steady time, and the proper electric power is fed to the lamp 10 at the steady time. |
