摘要 |
PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing high purity granulated TiO2 from low purity TiCl4 is provided, which is economical and effective. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: (i) primarily distilling low purity TiCl4 in a distilling tank containing cooling water at a temperature of 130-160deg.C; (ii) secondarily distilling the collected primarily distilled low purity TiCl4 at a temperature of 70-100deg.C; (iii) after preparing diluted TiCl4 aqueous solution from the highly purified TiCl4, adding an aqueous solution of 6 normal NH4OH to control the pH value at 7 and then stirring the prepared composition enough to prepare Ti(OH)4; (iv) after adding each methanol, isopropanol and methylethyl ketone to the Ti(OH)4 precipitate in a volumetric ratio of 1:1-4 respectively, centrifuging the mixture to eliminate V2O5; (v) after dispersing and stirring the Ti(OH)4 powder for 3-10 hours by using potential difference of the Ti(OH)4 and separating Ti(OH)4 precipitate with the solution by a centrifugal machine, drying the Ti(OH)4 precipitate at a temperature of about 70 deg.C for 24 hours and then calcining the dried Ti(OH)4 precipitate at a temperature of 800 deg.C for 3 hours.
