PURPOSE: A starting method in case of inferior cold starting is provided to prevent the inferior starting of an engine by a wet spark plug due to the excessive fuel supply in case of cold starting by reducing the fuel supply amount for the engine and drying a spark plug by engine monitoring. CONSTITUTION: A starting method in case of inferior cold starting includes the steps of determining a cold starting state by an ECU and determining a cranking fuel supply amount, carrying out cranking operation by driving a cranking motor in a fuel supply state and igniting by using an ignition plug, maintaining a running standby state as an engine is started while turning off a fuel pump after a predetermined time period in the other case, carrying out the monitoring of the engine by using the cranking motor while the fuel pump is turned off, and turning on the fuel pump for supplying fuel after the monitoring of a predetermined time period and starting the engine.
