PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily utilizable the internet. SOLUTION: A central processing unit(CPU) 16 fetches, the image of broadcasting displayed on a TV receiver 2, applies text character conversion to the fetched image and interprets the contents of text characters. The CPU 16 always monitors the position of a cursor on the screen of the TV receiver 2 and the state of a pointing device 17 and when the cursor is located on the text character and clicked, the selection of the relevant text character is judged. When the cursor is located on a URL character string and clicked, the CPU 16 is connected to the internet.
