PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for a vehicle adjustable longitudinally in accordance with physical constitution of an occupant seated during vehicle travelling and devised not to cause the seat body and the occupant to interfere with vehicle structures at the time of changing directions. SOLUTION: This seat 1 for the vehicle furnished with a direction changing mechanism 10 to change a direction of the seat body H has a longitudinal sliding mechanism 20 to move the seat body H in the longitudinal direction of the seat body H, a locking mechanism 40 to lock the direction changing mechanism 10 and an unlocking mechanism 30 to release a locking state of the locking mechanism 40 at the time when the seat body H moves to a specified position by the longitudinal sliding mechanism 20.
