PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing system and a method therefor to realize improvement in efficiency and speed-up in packing articles into a box. SOLUTION: An article cast-in station AS for receiving an article X and a cushioning air bag Y, a strapping station BS for putting a lid W1a on a box W1 while securing an air supply path to the air bag Y by an air supply pipe Z to wind a band B around an outer periphery of the box W1 and a filling station CS including an air supply device 1 for automatically supplying air to supply air into the air bag Y are provided in this sequence from an upstream of a box carry path 43 of a packing system for the article X on the carry path 43. Thus an operation in which an operator participates is simplified, and respective operations are divided thereby smoothly distributing the box W1 on the carry path 43.
