PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric deionizing type ultra-pure water manufacturing device at a low cost and having easy maintenance control and an electric deionizing type ultra-pure water manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This ultra-pure water manufacturing device consists of an ion exchange segment 110 interposed ion exchange resins 104, 105 between a cation exchange membrane 102 and an anion exchange membrane 103, an electric deionizing unit 101 having a brine flow path 102 through which brine 2 is allowed to flow outside the ion exchange segment 110, a treating water system by which treating water is passed through the ion exchange resins 104, 105 of the electric deionizing unit 101 to form ultra-pure water that ions are removed, and brine piping 15 by which brine 2 is circulated to the brine flow path 106 of the electric deionizing ion unit 101. Inside a strainer 153 arranged in the brine piping 15, a sterilizing member 154 made of a sterilizer consisting of a copper-silver alloy is packed.
