PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cuffs from widely covering a surface sheet in a throwaway diaper. SOLUTION: In a throwaway diaper 1, anterior and posterior waists 6 and 7 are provided on the right and left sides of the inside of a crotch area 8 and expandable cuffs 10 extending in the longitudinal direction of the crotch area 8 are provided, the cuffs are folded back to the inside of the diaper 1 in an intermediate section 20 outwardly extending from a fixed side edge 17 at least in the crotch area 8.
