IMAGE OBSERVATION APPARATUS AND IMAGE OBSERVATION SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image observation apparatus with which stereoscopic image information is well observed and an image observation system using the same. SOLUTION: This image observation apparatus has an image display means for displaying plural parallax images and a display optical system for guiding the luminous fluxes from this image display means to an observation eye and is constituted to make the plural parallax images incident on the single eye of the observer by approximately aligning the exit pupil position of the display optical system and the incident pupil position of the observation eye, spatially dividing the exit pupil of the display optical system to plural regions and making the parallax images corresponding to the respective regions incident on the observation eye. The area of the outermost periphery among the plural regions of the divided exit pupils is made wider than the regions exclusive of the outermost periphery.
