PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which can set a constant to be multiplied by a minimum recording power to an optimum value in accordance with a condition for recording like the convergence state of a light beam at the time of setting an optimum recording power. SOLUTION: The value of the constant which should be multiplied by the minimum recording power at the time of setting the optimum recording power is set by a constant setting means 22 in accordance with the convergence state of the light beam detected from the minimum recording power (Pmin) and/or the linear speed of an optical disk 1 detected by a linear speed detection means 23 and/or the ambient temperature of the optical disk 1 detected by a temperature detection means 24.
