<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image forming processing from being interrupted even when back-sided paper (paper whose one side has been already used) is inadvertently fed at the time of double-sided printing and to realize the image forming processing having high profitability. <P>SOLUTION: Whether recording paper supplied to an image forming part A is the back-sided paper is judged, When it is judged that the recording paper is the back-sided paper, the setting of a double-sided printing mode is made ineffective, and the setting of the printing mode is switched to a one-sided printing mode. The setting of the printing mode is switched to the one-sided printing mode and also a printing condition such as a toner saving mode, an intensive mode or a low image quality mode is automatically set.
