PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed cylindrical body capable of easily and rapidly constituting the closed cylindrical body such as a cup and a container, and a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: A cylindrical barrel portion 11 is formed by bending a cylindrical barrel portion constituting sheet part 3 into a cylindrical shape, and affixing both side parts thereof at an affixing margin 12, and a closed part constituting sheet part 4 extends from one end of the cylindrical barrel portion constituting sheet part 3 with a dimension corresponding to the radius of the circumscribed circle of one end opening part of the cylindrical barrel portion 11. A plurality of pleat-like fold parts 24 are formed in the peripheral direction in a returning manner toward the center while a one end opening edge of the cylindrical barrel portion 11 forms a returned part. The plurality of pleat-like fold parts 24 are successively folded in the peripheral direction to form a projecting closed part 25.
