An active headrest driving apparatus for a vehicle seat is provided to prevent the neck of an occupant from being damaged through an active headrest operating in the event of a rear end collision. An active headrest driving apparatus for a vehicle seat comprises a pair of guide brackets(41,43) fixed to the inner surfaces of right/left side frames(21a,21b) of a seat back frame(21) while facing each other. A pair of hinge brackets(45,47) are hinged to the guide brackets(41,43) such that the hinge brackets(45,47) linearly reciprocate leftward and rightward relative to the seat back frame(21). A base plate(49) has two ends hinged to the hinge brackets(45,47) while being parallel with an upper frame(21c) of the seat back frame(21). An amateur operation member is provided at the base plate(49) and is connected to a pair of amateur members(33) that pass through the hinge brackets(45,47) and the upper frame(21c). |
