<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor thermal imaging system which enables addressing to be at least partially independently applied to at least two different image forming layers of an imaging member from the same surface of the imaging member by using a single thermal print head or a plurality of thermal print heads. <P>SOLUTION: This multicolor thermal imaging method comprises: a step (a) of independently addressing the first image forming layer from the surface of a thermal imaging member by controlling the temperature of a thermal print head constituted so that an image can be formed in the first image forming layer, and a time interval when thermal energy is imparted to the first image forming layer, through the use of the thermal print head constituted so that the image can be formed in the first image forming layer, and of making the first image forming layer contain the at least two different image forming layers; and a step (b) of independently addressing the second image forming layer of the thermal imaging member from the same surface of the imaging member by controlling the temperature of a thermal print head, constituted so that the image can be formed in the second image forming layer, and a time interval when thermal energy is imparted to the second image forming layer, through the use of the thermal print head constituted so that the image can be formed in the second image forming layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
