PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a functional polyimide microparticle having a controlled particle shape etc. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for reacting a tetracarboxylic anhydride with a diamine compound in a polar solvent, thereby preparing a varnish of a polyamic acid and then depositing the polyimide microparticle from the reaction solvent using the varnish as a raw material.
