PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil composition suppressed in hue deterioration during storage and being excellent in hue stability and heat stability. SOLUTION: The fuel oil composition is characterized by having an aniline content of not higher than 0.5 ppm mass, a nitrogen content of not higher than 2 ppm mass, a sulfur content of not higher than 0.3 mass%, a flash point of not lower than 40°C, a Saybolt color number of not smaller than +15, an aromatic content of not higher than 25 vol.%, and an olefin content of not higher than 5 vol.%.
