Disclosed is a gas barrier multilayer body such as a gas barrier film, which is excellent in gas barrier properties against oxygen, carbon dioxide gas, water vapor and the like, especially in gas barrier properties at high humidity. Specifically disclosed is a gas barrier multilayer body such as a gas barrier film, which is characterized by comprising at least two of layers (Y) containing a polymer (a) of a polyvalent metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid compound, in the base layer. This gas barrier multilayer body such as a gas barrier film is also characterized in that at least one of the layers (Y) containing the polymer (a) is composed of the polymer (a) of a polyvalent metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid compound and a vinyl alcohol polymer (b).
