摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of efficiently producing high purity steel at a low cost.SOLUTION: Provided is a refining method for a molten iron where high purity steel is melted from a blast furnace molten iron having a silicon concentration of 0.45 mass% or higher, comprising: a preliminary desiliconization step of controlling the concentration of silicon in the molten iron to 0.2 to 0.4 mass% prior to decarburization refining, in which the preliminary desiliconization step includes: a step where, in a process of transferring the above blast furnace molten iron to a molten iron transport container, the molten iron during flowing down is charged with a solid oxygen source as a desiliconization agent; and a step where stirring is performed in the molten iron transport container.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
