<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any failure that a template is likely to be affected by the difference of the colors of face data or the shapes of faces to be used or the luminance of an area other than the face since the orientation of the face is estimated by comparing the similarity of the various face directions and the template, and as a result, it is necessary to compare similarity in the various face images in a conventional manner. <P>SOLUTION: This face orientation estimating device for estimating the orientation of a face in an image is provided with an image inputting means for fetching an image, a face orientation converting means for operating image processing to convert the orientation of the face in the image fetched by the image inputting means to create a face orientation converted face and a specific face orientation evaluating means for estimating the orientation of the face in the image by evaluating the orientation of the face orientation converted face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
