PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data identification device capable of correctly identifying a date of a photograph.SOLUTION: A date identification device comprises: a cutting-out part 81 for cutting out date region data 101, in which it is estimated that a date is applied, of image data 100 generated by imaging a medium P to which a date 155 is applied by a 7-segment character 140; a binarization conversion part 82 for preforming binarization of the date region data 101 by using a threshold based on brightness and color tone; a labeling part 83 for performing labeling processing to the date region data 101 which has been subjected to binarization, to extract object region data 102 which may be identified as a numeric number; a numeric number identification part 84 for performing histogram using plural lines to at least the object region data 102 to identify a numeric number, based on a peak number on each line; and a date data application part 85 for applying the date data based on the identified numeric number to the image data 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
