<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical thin-film filter in which a group delay deviation of not only transmission property but reflection property is minimized. <P>SOLUTION: A band pass type optical thin-film filter has a cavity layer formed of reflecting mirror layers and a spacer layer in both of which optical thin-films with different refractive indexes are multilayered, and the plurality of cavity layers is formed into many stages via connecting layers. The layer constitution is determined according to a desired transmission property and reflection property based on a denominator polynomial and numerator polynomial showing the transmission property and the denominator polynomial and numerator polynomial showing reflection property in the Hurwitz polynomial of complex frequency s.
