An independent claim is included for a method for the production of an anti-reflection, anti-fogging layer on the surface of an optical element (1) by applying an anti-fogging polymer layer (2) to the surface, applying a thin layer (3) onto layer (2) and forming a nano-structure (7) by a plasma-etching process.
