<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic roller suitably used as a toner carrying roller, constituted so that the roller is provided with low compression set required for the toner carrying roller, etc., and also, provided with high flexibility generated by the geometrical work of slits by making the cylindrical elastic body constituting a contact/pressure surface with toner of the elastic roller dense and uniformly forming slits in the elastic body surface along the circumferential direction. <P>SOLUTION: As for the elastic roller which is constituted by inserting a core material 12 of a prescribed length into the polyurethane-based foam cylindrical elastic body 14 which is obtained by mixing required auxiliary material such as foaming agent and foam stabilizer etc., to polyol and isocyanate as main raw material, the density of the cylindrical elastic body 14 is set so as to be at least ≥ 60kg/m<SP>3</SP>, and also, several slits 16 are formed in the outer circumferential surface 14a of the elastic body 14 so as to extend in the axial direction, and also, to be oriented to the axial center. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
