<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel belt drive unit comprising an endless steel belt stretched between a drive pulley and a driven pulley to be capable of circulating to run in which the belt can be stably run, and in which increase of noise due to resonance while the belt is driven can be eliminated. <P>SOLUTION: The steel belt 1 is coated with elastic material such as rubber at both width end parts to form coating parts 6. On the drive pulley 2 and the driven pulley 3, flanged protrusions 7 are provided at both their axial ends to guide the coating parts 6 when the belt is run. Even when the belt 1 is thin, deformation of the belt due to friction to the flanged protrusions 6 or belt rupture caused by cracking or the like can be prevented because it is reinforced at their width end parts. Even when parallelism between the drive pulley and the driven pulley or deflection of outer circumferential parts of the pulleys is regulated more roughly than in conventional devices, the belt will not come off. This steel belt drive unit can be composed at low cost. Noise due to friction between belt end parts and the flanged protrusions 7 is not generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
