In a plug hinge comprising an upper and lower part, each part having a pivot end 1, 2 and a plug end 3, 4, the pivot ends pivoting one upon the other about a hinge pin 5; the plug ends, which are secured in holes 6 in the door and door frame 7 respectively, have flanges 9 at predetermined angles to the longitudinal axes of the plug ends which provide flat faces for contact with the door or door frame. The plug ends may be retained in the holes 6 by a push fit or suitable adhesive, or may be threaded to screw in up to the flange 9. The hinge pin 5 may be formed as an integral part of the pivot end of one part of the hinge, or may be separately formed and press-fitted into a hole in the pivot end of one part of the hinge.
