BALL GUIDE

PURPOSE: To apply to various guide diameters and guide lengths by forming an aperture whose cage is a plastic belt and which is used for receiving a ball and connecting the side edges of a coiled belt adjacent to each other. CONSTITUTION: This ball guide 1 is formed by disposing a cage 6 retaining a ball 7 between an outer member 2 having a cylindrical hole 3 and a shaft 4 so that the shaft 4 may be in an axially movable and rotatable condition. The cage 6 is formed so that a plastic belt 8 involving a plurality of holes 9 which accepts the ball 7 and partially-protrudes the ball 7 inward and outward in the radial direction to retain it may be coiled and respective sides of edges 15, 16 of the belt 8 may be connected at intermittent welded joints 14 to form the closed cage. A lateral groove 13 is formed between the respective two holes 9 to thin down the cross-section of the belt 8, thus being bent easily. A backup ring 17 is then mounted on both end surfaces 18 of the cage 6.
