A carrying claw for supports in a mine has hooked profiled jaws (2,3) which swivel on a nut and bolt pivot (12), and together form an enclosed space (4) to conform to the shape of the supports. The flattened ends (10) of the claw fit on either side of a swivel end and are drilled (11) to take the bolt (12) with a threaded end (14) and nut (15). The inner face (24) of the nut (15) and that (25) of the bolt head (26) are tightened against the raised surface (22,23) of the claw ends (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - Even when loaded at an angle there is no angled strain on the nut and bolt swivel.
