PURPOSE: To update stored data even when reception equipment such as an electronic bulletin board is not an approved type everytime in the case of data transmission by radio. CONSTITUTION: In order to avoid the problem of getting the type approval of respective models of equipment positioned at an unsatisfactory place from the point of view of radio reception, a radio frequency receiver 18 like a wide area digital pager 16, for example, is attached separately from equipment such as an electronic bulletin board 36, for example. The radio frequency receiver 18 has a light emitting device 30 so that data on the electronic bulletin board 36 can be transferred through an optical fiber 38 and an RS232 connector 40 to a memory on the electronic bulletin board 36. As an alternative plan, the optical fiber can be omitted and an infrared radiation emitter and a receiver are used for linking a radio receiver to equipment.
